More than one person told me that a film about the famous character of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was expecting something else. Holmes, detective of Victorian London, was ingenious, elegant, calm and insightful. Imagination collective method of investigation by a guru, but from the unusual to "educate" always put down and polite in the way we do. Fortunately, these judgments are often negative on the film, did not adversely affect my vision and my objectivity in forming opinions and formulate an opinion.
The film is wanted but never snobbish: some shots are worth very much to the director's ability to capture light and fine details, "copyright" and make them visible to the eye even of the less careful.
The Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie is a vicious (he drinks, he gambles ...) with strong obsessive-compulsive disorder for anything intrigues him, so much on himself and groped her the dog experiments proved dangerous. A wonderful passage in which he states "with the music theory I have created order out of chaos," referring to a study conducted on small insects using sound of the violin and observation of their flight arrangements, "it took me six hours to trapping them in one by one, "admits candidly. A child or an idiot? This is the meaning of the film: the genius of Holmes and his opponent is right in the rules and subvert the peace apparently "rational". Holmes is great because it thinks as if every experience was new, focused every detail according to the picture. This contrasts with its extravagance and its apparent sconclusionatezza, the character of Watson: Doctor calm, intelligent, but much more ordinary. In most of the couple suddenly reminds me of the Holmes-Watson pair-Wilson House (Dr. House MD ), in which Holmes is clearly comparable to the House, both brilliant and clear with serious psychological disorders.
The plot refers to a 'detective adventure (do not think it is from any of Doyle's novels), which faces a Freemason rich and obsessed with the occult, eager to put the yoke of democratic institutions' British Empire (the world's most powerful at that time).
