A brilliant young New York City detective, Ichabod Crane, is frowned upon by his colleagues and the authorities for the methods by which this approach to cases that are submitted. Amateur scientist and deeply skeptical uses its own rationality as a filter made to a justice of summary trials and depositions still too much like religions. After his last run-in with their superiors is sent to investigate a mysterious and gruesome triple murder in the case of disability and concealment in a remote village: Sleepy Hollow. His convictions and his rational methods will not reach to cover the mysteries of thickening in a perfect for investigators to Dylan Dog: full of mist, and eerie landscapes full of superstition. A grim and terrible story, a mysterious and inexplicable power appearance will test the being of our protagonist, whose character is crafted by a superlative Tim Burton. In this film, Johnny Depp is perfect: white corpse, schizoid, and fearful to the bone. With that attitude and superiority that you could make a prosperous metropolitan in 1799.
The story is grotesque, unbelievable at times, but the storyline makes the pivot on which the story is centered is not a final esacmotage to show, like a Deus Ex Machina (indeed, as a Hitchcock shot the scene) the real "culprit". Photography is apt, frightening, sometimes mystical. Reflects precisely the mood of the inhabitants and visitors. A very beautiful and compelling film, in which a director from 10 + combines the pieces of a puzzle postmodernism. Rationality and Myth, intrigue and revenge, love and hell combine, supported by bloodshed would call "radical chic" in a film of considerable thickness.
